INSPIRATION

The cassette tape was a great musical tool in the 80s and the 90s. It went hand in hand with several musical devices. One of the greatest tools was the Walkman. I was in junior high school when I got my first one. The first one I received did not have a cassette player attached. It just had an am/fm radio but it was still awesome to me. Not too long after, I received one with a cassette player. I can’t remember what my first cassette was but i do know that around that time Mariah Carey was constantly on replay. Over the years I purchased many cassettes and I still have some put away. Music took me to a whole other place. It carried me away from a not so happy childhood to a place of harmony and it lifted me up. It always got me through some things. I discovered how much joy music could put in the soul. To this day, music is my medicine. It can be the medicine that lifts me and the medicine that calms to my core. I have a special place in my heart for cassettes and the journey my collection took with me.
